Georgiy Khrapak

russian painter, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1970), member of the Moscow Union of Artists (1946). He graduated from the Moscow Academic Art College in 1941. His creative interests focused in large part on the theme of the city, primarily Moscow. He painted in Moscow downtown - Gorky Street, boulevards, Samotec, Zamoskvorechye. He travelled a lot around the country and abroad. He painted Bukhara, Baku, monuments of ancient Abkhazia, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Zagorsk, Sweden. Khrapak was a prominent master of the city landscape and participated in many art exhibitions. During his lifetime large personal exhibitions took place in Moscow in 1961 and 1966. After his death major personal exhibitions were held in Moscow in 1974 and 2004. More than 100 artworks by the artist are housed in various locations including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Museum of Fine Arts, A.S. Pushkin Museum (graphic room), the Museum of History and Reconstruction of Moscow, the Central Museum of the Soviet Army and other museums in Russia and abroad.
